Design based on Renault Alpine Celebration Concept.
RM Design has rendered a production-spec version of the Renault Alpine Celebration Concept, due for debut next year.
The design tries to capture the spirit of the popular Alpine A110, complete with the iconic round lamps and "Alpine" lettering, and a similar roof line. The unofficial render features production-spec elements such as headlamps, larger rear view mirrors, smaller alloy rims, and lack of body of graphics. At the moment, Renault hasn't revealed the interior.
The production-spec model is expected to be a less-expensive RWD model sourcing power from a 1.6-liter turbo or a bigger 2.0-liter turbo from the Renault RS models, which are paired to a dual-clutch gearbox. Purists are hoping for a manual transmission in the Renault Alpine for spirited driving. Its target kerb weight of less than 1,100 kg will surely lead to excellent performance figures.

Renault could take the wraps off the Alpine at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March, which is the first biggest European auto show in 2016. Reports suggest that the sports car will be followed by an SUV in due course.
