Honda Cars India has started teasing the all-new Jazz on its social media channels, ahead of a launch that would take place in the June-July period. Upon opening its website, visitors are greeted by an Orange Jazz with a chrome grille, which seems to be one of several changes the Japanese company has made for the Indian market Jazz.

Unlike markets abroad which get 1.3- or 1.5-liter petrol engines, the Jazz in India would come with the 1.2-liter petrol engine to qualify for small car excise duty benefits. The petrol, as this video shows, will be paired to manual and automatic transmissions, the latter reportedly a CVT.
India will be the first market to sell the Jazz with a diesel engine. The engine in question is the same 1.5-liter i-DTEC unit found on the Amaze, City and Mobilio. Capable of 100 PS and 200 Nm on these cars, the Jazz diesel is expected to set a new benchmark for fuel economy in its segment.

Honda will make the new Jazz at its Tapukara plant in Rajasthan. Where the previous model was considered an expensive car in its segment owing to plenty of imported parts and components, Honda is targeting 90 percent localization for the new Jazz, which shares its platform and many parts with the new City.
Rivals: Tata Bolt, Fiat Punto Evo, VW Polo, Maruti Swift, Hyundai Elite i20
Expected Price: INR 5-7 lakhs, ex-Showroom
