For the Chinese market, the Everest will be sold with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost petrol engine, and 2.2- and 3.2-liter TDCi diesel engines, the latter being a five-cylinder unit. According to local media reports, both 2WD and 4WD variants will be on offer.
The ladder-frame SUV will be equipped with projector headlights, a powered tailgate, Ford's SYNC2 infotainment system with voice commands, an 8-inch touchscreen display with a 9-speaker audio system and a sub-woofer, powered third row seats, and the new Terrain Management System.
For the Indian market, the new Endeavour is expected to launch towards the end of the year with the 2.2- and 3.2-liter diesel engines. For the Indian market, the SUV will continue to be assembled at the Chennai plant from Thai-made CKD kits.
