Will get LED headlights.
BMW India has confirmed the launch of the 2015 BMW 6 Series (facelift) for May 29, 2015. The car maker says in its invitation that it will launch the 6 Series Gran Coupe variant - the four-door version of the 6 Series.
Revealed in December last year, the 6 Series facelift gets modest design changes, but its mechanicals continue unchanged. The front fascia receives a new kidney grille, a redesigned bumper and standard LED headlights.
New alloy wheel patterns, a subtly revised rear bumper and four new color choices are the other exterior changes seen on the four-door coupe. The interior continues unchanged save for new two-tone leather upholstery options and "improved material quality".
For the Indian market, the 6 Series will be come in the 640d variant, which is powered by a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder diesel engine capable of 313 hp at 4,400 rpm and 630 Nm of torque between 1,500-2,500 rpm. The drive is sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission, enabling a top-speed of 250 km/h and a 0-100 km/h time of 5.4 seconds.
The 6 Series facelift will be imported to the country through the CBU route. It competes with the likes of the Mercedes CLS Class, which was recently updated in India, and the Audi A7. BMW India also sells its high-performance M6 Gran Coupe in the country.
