Powered by the 3L diesel engine for India.
BMW India today launched the 2015 BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe, essentially the 6 Series facelift, in New Delhi India at the Bridal Fashion Week 2015. The updated 6 Series Gran Coupe is priced at INR 1.149 crores for the Eminence variant and INR 1.219 crores for the Design Pure Experience variant.
The 2015 6 Series Gran Coupe in India is offered in the 640d guise, and is hence powered by the 3.0-liter in-line six-cylinder diesel engine which produces 313 hp at 4,400 rpm and 630 Nm of torque between 1,500-2,500 rpm. It comes paired to an 8-speed transmission spinning the rear wheels, and is capable of hitting 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds and onwards to an electronically-limited top-speed of 250 km/h.
There are no changes to the mechanicals of the 6 Series. However, BMW have introduced minor cosmetic and feature updates on the grand tourer.
A new design for the kidney grille and revised front and rear aprons claim to "accentuate the width of the body". Larger tailpipe embellishers are installed on models with six-cylinder engines (640d, 640i the latter which is not sold in India) for a more sportier look. Finally, the updated 6 Series range comes with full-LED headlights and optional Adaptive LED Headlights with BMW Selective Beam anti-dazzle High Beam Assistant.
Inside, the quality of the surfaces have been increased and bi-color leather trims are now available as an option. Further, BMW's Connected Drive navigation package is fitted as standard.
