Ahead of its public debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, Jaguar have revealed the Jaguar XE saloon at a private event in London last evening.

Touted as the most important Jaguar to be ever launched, the car adopts the family design with similarities mainly to the F-Type and XJ.
The exterior highlights include a sporty front-end with large grille and slender headlamps. The sculpted hood, chrome vents, rear spoiler, dual exhaust and optional 20-inch alloy wheels round up the eye-catching features.
Inside, Jaguar have opted for a clutter-free design with useful features like head-up display, InControl infotainment system with an eight-inch monitor that supports Bluetooth/USB and provides a Wi-Fi hotspot.
The car revealed at the event, the XE S variant, is powered by a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine that develops 340 PS (335.2 bhp) and 450 Nm of torque, driven via an eight-speed automatic transmission, giving the XE a 0-100 kph time of 4.9 seconds and a restricted top speed of 250 km/h.
Lower variants of the XE get the 2.0-liter Ingenium four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, specifications of which will be let out at the Paris premiere.
The XE's body structure uses aluminum for more than 75 percent, sporting a double wishbone front suspension and an integral link rear suspension. Jaguar have developed a new electric power steering system and an All Surface Progress Control system.
Safety features on the XE include reverse traffic detection, traffic sign recognition, and an autonomous emergency braking system.
