Mid-life facelift for X3 brings cosmetic and minor mechanical changes.

BMW India have confirmed that the 2015 BMW X3 (facelift) will launch on August 28. The pre-facelift model was launched in India in August 2011.

The refreshed X3 had its global premiere earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show. The front fascia of the X3 now subscribes to the brand's new design language with the larger headlights and kidney grille resembling that of the new X5. Refreshed bumpers, tweaked taillights and new alloy wheel patterns complete the exterior changes.

The refreshed X3 now looks a bit more grown up thanks to the design changes.

Inside, a high-gloss finish for the center console, new cupholders and upholstery designs along with an electric opening function of the tailgate complete the revisions.

The X3 is available in India with 2.0-liter and 3.0-liter diesel engine options. The smaller engine produces 184 bhp and 380 Nm of torque in the current model. However, internationally, this engine now makes an additional 6 bhp of power but improves fuel efficiency by 7.1 percent. There are no upgrades expected for the larger six-cylinder 3.0-liter engine though.

The X3 in India is assembled at BMW's Chennai CKD plant, and this would continue with the refreshed model as well.
