Kawasaki has launched the Kawasaki Z250 SL in the Indonesian market at 38.9 million Indonesian Rupiah (INR 2.03 lakhs). The naked sports bike was launched in two variants, with and without ABS, with the more expensive ABS version priced at 44.9 million Rupiah (INR 2.34 lakhs).
The Z250 SL (SL denoting 'Super Lightweight') is positioned below the Z250 street racer in the company's lineup. The Z250 SL weighs in at a light 148 kg, thanks mainly to the lack of a fairing.
Power for the Z250 SL comes from the same engine used on the RR Mono. The engine in question is a 249 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected motor outputting 27.6 bhp at 9,700 rpm and 23 Nm of torque at 8,200 rpm. It comes matched to a 6-speed gearbox.
The front of the Z250 SL gets 37 mm telescopic forks, while Uni-Trak linkage-type suspension with a 5-setting pre-load adjustability is seen at the rear. Kawasaki have provided a 263 mm single disc brake at the front, while the rear gets a 193 mm disc.
The motorcycle gets a digital screen which reads out the tachometer, speedometer, trip-meter, clock and fuel level.
