The Perodua Alza is heading for a facelift and here are early images of the MPV from Malaysian website Paul Tan. Since its launch in 2009, the Malaysian car maker hasn't carried out any updates on this MPV which competes against the Nissan Grand Livina, Toyota Avanza and Proton Exora.
At the front, the Alza receives a redesigned bumper with a new foglight enclosure (which seems to be inspired by the Maruti Ertiga). The grille is now plated with chrome on the lower part, while the orange blinker on the headlight is replaced with a clear lens.
Towards the rear, the Alza facelift gets a new black plate highlighting the 'Proton' and 'Alza' logos. The taillight gets clear lenses, and it seems to look similar to the Wagon R Stingray.
Mechanically, Paul Tan does not expect any changes in the MPV. Power comes from a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 104 PS and 136 Nm of torque. The 4.2-meter long people mover can be chosen with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic.
Seen here is the Alza SE variant which gets a full body kit, rear spoiler and 8-spoke alloy wheels. Paul Tan says that this is the range-topping model of the refreshed Alza lineup.
Perodua will be launching the refreshed Alza tomorrow so stay tuned to Indian Autos Blog for further updates on the car.
