Mercedes mentions that there will be a new concept car early next year to preview the next-generation Mercedes S Class.
Design chief Gorden Wagener claims that the design of the new S Class would be “pure and timeless, combining traditional and new design ethics.” Quattroruote.it today presents a close-to-production rendering of the all-new Mercedes S Class.
Excluding the information that we have already presented in these two articles (Article 1 and Article 2), we want to share with you some more information on the all-new Mercedes S Class -
- The 2014 Mercedes S Class features the world's first camera-based pedestrian detection system. The new system is more accurate than the outgoing radar-based system.
- It will also feature 'Emergency Steer Assist' which works with the pedestrian detection system to help the driver in swerving around an obstacle during an emergency.
- An upgraded version of Emergency Brake Assist system which can brake the car to a standstill from up to 70 km/hr rather than the current 30 km/hr is coming on the 2014 model.
- The all-aluminum suspension will have 'Magic Ride Control' system where cameras will read through the road and automatically adjust the suspension to improve ride comfort.
The production version of the new S-Class will make its debut later in 2013.
