Hero Motocorp has commenced dispatching the refreshed 2014 Hero Karizma R and 2014 Hero Karizma ZMR to dealers, a company official told Indian Autos Blog today. The company is dispatching the motorcycles in stages.
One dealer we spoke to in South India expects to receive the first units of the motorcycles in 2-3 weeks time. The launch therefore can take place anytime now, and certainly by the end of this month. The updated Karizma R and ZMR were showcased in October last year alongside several other updated Hero products.

Both motorcycles get newly designed exteriors and minor updates to their engines. The Karizma R is powered by an air-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke, 223 cc engine producing 19.2 PS and 19.35 Nm of torque. The older model produced 17.2 PS and 18.35 Nm of torque, and thanks to this power boost, the 0-60 km/h acceleration time has improved from 3.8 seconds to 3.6 seconds.
The Karizma ZMR gets the same engine as the R, however, where the R gets a carburetor, the ZMR is fuel-injected and as a result develops power and torque figures of 20 PS and 19.7 Nm respectively. Again, this is an improvement from the earlier 17.8 PS and 18.35 Nm of torque.
The dealer told us to expect prices not below INR 90,000 for the Karizma R.
