At the press conference in Gurgaon where Hero MotorCorp is showcasing a range of 15 refreshed products, we spotted the New Hero Karizma and the New Hero Karizma ZMR on display.
Optically, the bikes are equipped with twin headlight, new handle bar, new race-inspired belly pan, muscular front fender, new muffler cover, bulb winker, new fairing and wider tires.
Mechanically the bikes have been retuned for higher outputs. Hero has not divulged the power outputs of the motorcycles, but there is a significant difference to the torque outputs.
New Hero Karizma
The new Karizma gets a 223cc, air-cooled, carburetted four-stroke engine (which currently produces 17 bhp @ 7,000 RPM) with a torque rating of 19.35 Nm @ 6,000 RPM (up from 18.35 Nm @ 6,000 RPM) operated via a 5-speed gearbox. Kick-start and electric start, rear disc brake, and a 15-liter fuel tank are a few salient features.
New Hero Karizma ZMR
The sportier Karizma ZMR is powered by a 223cc oil-cooled fuel-injected four-stroke engine which has also been uprated. In the current tuning state, the motor makes 17.6 bhp @ 7,000 RPM. Its torque has been boosted from 18.35 Nm @ 6,000 RPM to 19.73 Nm @ 6,500 RPM. It is equipped with self-start, and the 0-60 kph acceleration time of 3.7 seconds may see improvement.
Both vehicles retain the same suspensions - Telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers at the front and Swing arm with adjustable type hydraulic shock absorber at the rear.
