Indian Autos Blog reader, Mr. Sanket Gaikwad, sent us these pictures of the Bajaj RE60 while it was testing on the Pune-Nagar highway in Maharashtra.

The Bajaj RE60 is powered by a 200cc DTS-i engine.

The RE60 will be classified as a quadricycle when its launched. Powering the vehicle is Bajaj's 200cc DTS-i engine, though the power and torque outputs of this engine remain a secret. The company mentioned earlier this year that the RE60 would be capable of achieving a top-speed of 70 km/h, and that the fuel efficiency would be in excess of 35 km/l.

In one of these images, you can see the dashboard-mounted gearlever, and the centrally-placed instrument cluster of the vehicle.

The interiors sport a column-mounted gearlever and a centrally-placed instrument cluster.

Just last week, another Indian Autos Blog reader caught a CNG version of the RE60 on test near Pune. The RE60 CNG would have a lower cost of running compared to the regular petrol variant, and we expect it to achieve CO2 emissions less than 60 g/km.

Even now, it remains unclear as to when the RE60 would be launched. The government of India is yet to give a clear nod approving the sale of quadricycles in the country. In their last communication, it was revealed that quadricycles will have to be sold as commercial vehicles only, and that their usage will be restricted to 'non-highway' parts of cities and villages.
