The Datsun Go continues testing in Chennai and this latest spyshot was snapped by Team BHP member 'geeash' near Pallavaram on the GST Road. This road eventually leads to the Renault-Nissan manufacturing plant, where the Go will be made, starting next year.
Unveiled in July this year, the Go is the first ever modern day Datsun product. It is based on the Nissan ‘V’ platform borrowed from the Micra, and even its engine will be the same 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol motor, albeit tuned for better economy.

The Go is aimed at the 'emerging middle class' customer, who is probably purchasing a car for the first time. Datsun branded vehicles will retail out of existing Nissan dealerships, though the staff and display area will be dedicated to the brand.
The market launch of the Go will be held early next year and a sub-4 lakh rupees starting price is promised. Following its Indian launch, the Go will sell in overseas markets like Indonesia and South Africa.
Nissan conducted the Indonesian premiere of the Datsun brand at the recently concluded IIMS 2013. Apart from showcasing the Go, a three-row 7-seat MPV version based on it called the Go+, was also premiered.
