Since its international premiere in 2009, Renault have launched many variants on this platform. However proper cosmetic upgrades were never part of any of these programs.

As part of its mid-life facelift that gets inspired by its South Korean cousin Samsung SM3, the Renault Fluence gets a host of modifications such as a new front bumper and single piece grill that is reminiscent of the Koleos.

The changes to the cabin are moderate. Electronic parking brake is standard across variants. The top-end model receives a sunroof and the audio system is updated with bigger dials.

Under the hood, the Fluence gets a comprehensive ECU remap to improve power output and fuel economy. The 2.0 litre in-line-four cylinder engine puts out 140 BHP @ 6,000 RPM and 195 NM of peak torque @ 3,700 RPM. Fuel economy is improved to 15.6 kpl for the CVT version, which is sold in India.

Renault has just upgraded the 1.5L diesel engine on the Fluence and there is no logic for further changes in the foreseeable future. Around 150 units of the Fluence is sold every month and this upgrade could help increase that number.
