For China, the Suzuki Jimny is an imported model and hence demands a higher price tag.
Motoring the Jimny is a 1.3L petrol engine that produces 85hp and 110Nm. Customers can chose either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission to deliver the power to the wheels, and all variants are equipped with a 4WD layout.

Maruti Suzuki has no plans to get the Jimny to participate in the mini SUV segment (read 'the next big thing') as this product is almost 15 years old and cannot help Maruti compete with 21st century creations such as the EcoSport or Duster.
The Jimny successor which could be based on the XA Alpha concept showcased at the Auto Expo in New Delhi is workable to attain a respectable position in this new segment. Maruti could borrow the Swift's components set to build the new mini SUV, expected to reach dealer showrooms in 2014.
