Expected to be launched in the July-August period.
These images show the Yamaha MT 25 sans camouflage for the first time. The MT 25, as reported earlier, is the naked sibling of the Yamaha R25, and is expected to launch in Indonesia in the July-August period this year, where it will be produced by PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM).
The MT 25 will inherit its mechanicals from the popular R25. The engine in question is a parallel-twin cylinder 250 cc unit which is capable of producing 36 PS at 12,000 rpm and 22.6 Nm of torque at 10,000 rpm. The gearbox will be a 6-speed transmission.
Reports cite that Yamaha has altered the handlebar and seating position of the MT 25 in comparison to the R25, for a more upright riding position. Other design aspects of the motorcycle, like the stubby exhaust, the webbed alloy wheels, the chiseled tank and the instrument cluster seem borrowed from the faired R25.

For the Indian market, Yamaha is yet to announce concrete plans for the sportsbike segment. The brand could explore the more powerful R3 in addition to the R25, but has not confirmed anything.
