To be unveiled on December 1.
Two units of the Yamaha M-Slaz prototype, formerly referred to as the Yamaha MT-15, have been snapped up-close in Indonesia by an IwanBanaran reader. The motorcycle is announced to be unveiled at the 32nd Thailand International Motor Expo 2015 on December 1, following a teaser which revealed the headlamp and the fully-digital instrument cluster recently.
The Yamaha M-Slaz is the naked version of the Yamaha R15 that was expected to be classified into the MT series. It uses the same Delta frame chassis, 150 cc engine, 6-speed transmission and most of the vital components like the swingarm, but features some mechanical changes like the inverted telescopic fork. The styling is typical of the MT range of Yamaha motorcycles with exceptions such as the LED headlamp that is shaped similar to the Kawasaki Z800.

The single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with SOHC is likely to have the same state of tune as the R15 Version 2.0, which is 17 PS at 8,500 rpm and 15 Nm at 7,500 rpm. The motorcycle will be stopped by disc brakes at both ends, and is not expected to get ABS even as option. The Yamaha M-Slaz will be launched in Thailand and Indonesia in the coming months. It is unclear if it will be launched in India.
