Could be introduced in the Indian market.

Multiple internet reports say that the Yamaha M-Slaz would be presented at the Auto Expo 2016 in Greater Noida next week. It is likely that the model would eventually be launched in the country.

The Yamaha M-Slaz is reportedly based on a platform that will underpin the next Yamaha R15.

If the model does debut at the Auto Expo, it is unclear what name it will bear as it is sold as the Yamaha M-Slaz in Thailand and as the Yamaha Xabre in Indonesia. The R15-based street fighter could be named Yamaha MT-15 as the other naked models derived from the Yamaha R series fully faired bikes are typically classified.

However, unlike other models such as the Yamaha R25 and Yamaha R3 spawning the Yamaha MT-25 and the MT-03, the M-Slaz is not derived from the super sport model but is reportedly based on a new platform that will underpin the next Yamaha R15.

The M-Slaz is characterized by LED headlamps and DRLs, bikini fairing, inverted telescopic fork, and new fuel tank design. Except the bikini fairing, the other features are expected to be carried over to the next generation R15 (Version 3.0).
