Will be launched in Summer 2017 (June-August 2017) in the USA.
The long-awaited VW Tiguan XL is finally set to become official. Volkswagen has announced that this derivative will be called 'VW Tiguan Allspace' and debut at the 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit next month.
The long-wheelbase version of the second generation VW Tiguan will be sold as VW Tiguan Allspace in Europe, but in North America and China, it will be named simply 'VW Tiguan'. The stretched version has 11 cm longer wheelbase compared to the standard version. The German-spec VW Tiguan has a wheelbase of 2,677 cm (267.7 cm), meaning that the VW Tiguan Allspace has a wheelbase of 278.7 cm.
The VW Tiguan is a 5-seat SUV. As for the VW Tiguan Allspace, Volkswagen says that it will have "up to seven seats", meaning that two seating configurations (two-row, 5-seat and three-row 7-seat) are planned. It could be offered with 1.4- and 2.0-litre turbo petrol and 2.0-litre diesel engine options.
