After announcing that its first models would be launched in October this year, a couple of UM Global models have been spotted testing in Pune.
Two models were spotted by readers of Autocolumn, one of which is the confirmed-for-India UM Renegade and the other being the Hypersport 2015. While the Renegade was showcased at the Auto Expo 2014, this is the first time the Hypersport has been spotted on Indian soil.
The Renegade is powered by a choice of 3 engines - a 137 cc engine making 10.97 hp at 7,900 rpm and producing peak torque of 10.53 Nm at 5,600 rpm; a 180 cc engine producing 16.7 hp at 8,600 rpm and peak torque of 13.68 Nm at 8,000 rpm and finally a 196 cc engine that makes 15.22 hp at 7,500 rpm and peak torque of 14,67 Nm at 6,400 rpm. The model showcased at the Auto Expo 2014 was the 196 cc bike. All 3 engine are four-stroke single-cylinder air-cooled petrol engines.
As for the Hypersport 2015, this too comes in a choice of 3 engines. It is unclear as to what specification the spied model is of. First up is a 124 cc engine that makes 10.45 hp at 8,500 rpm and peak torque of 9 Nm at 8,000 rpm; a 199 cc engine that makes 14.75 hp at 7,500 rpm and peak torque of 15 Nm at 6,000 rpm and lastly a 223 cc engine making 17.27 hp at 8,000 rpm and 16.86 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm.
While the Renegade is marketed as a cruiser, the Hypersport is a multi-purpose motorcycle.
