First seen at the Auto Expo in January this year, the TVS Draken X-21 and Graphite are being showcased in Indonesia at the ongoing Jakarta Fair (PRJ 2014). Also present was the Scooty Streak Hybrid concept which was unveiled in India back in 2010.
TVS Draken X-21 Concept
The Draken X-21 concept previews the design direction that would be taken by the next gen Apache RTR. Asymetric headlights, a muscular fuel tank with extended scoops, structural sub-frame, a reverse free flow exhaust and an active matrix digital speedometer are the design highlights of the 250cc motorcycle.
The production version of the Draken X-21 would pickup up a brawl with the likes of Kawasaki Z250, Pulsar 200 NS and Honda CBR250R. A senior TVS official had said the new Apache, launching this year, will absorb design cues from the Draken.
TVS Graphite Concept
Created with inputs from TVS' racing division, the Graphite concept is a sporty scooter with edgy styling. The chassis of the scooter is made up of high tensile steel.
The scooter boasts of an AMT gearbox with paddle shifters. An active LED instrument console provides the necessary information. Other features of the Graphite include telescopic front and gas charged damper rear suspension setup, dual channel ABS, engine immobilizer and a smart electronic key.
TVS Scooty Hybrid Concept
The Scooty Hybrid Concept showcased at the Jakarta Fair has improved specifications than the one showcased in India in 2010. The concept scooter is powered by a 110cc petrol engine paired to an 800 W brushless DC electric motor. A 48V 9AH Li-ion battery is the source of electricity.
The scooter offers four riding mode - Hybrid Power, Hybrid Economy, Engine and Electric. The fuel economy is claimed to be 100 km/l.
In addition to these concepts, TVS launched the Max 125 bike in Indonesia.
