Should be launched by the year-end or early-2017.
The TVS Akula 310 concept that was unveiled at Auto Expo 2016 is set to evolve into a flagship TVS motorcycle later this year or early next year. TVS Motor celebrated Shark Awareness Day by posting a new image of the TVS Akula 310 concept on Twitter. The relevance here is that 'Akula' is Russian for Shark.
In the most recent news, the TVS Akula 310 concept's production version was reported to be named TVS Apache RTR 300. The TVS Apache RTR 300 will be TVS Motor's fully-faired production motorcycle. It will be based on the BMW G310R, the first sub-500 cc production roadster from BMW Motorrad.
The TVS Akula 310 concept's carbon-fibre body most certainly won't make it to production, for the sake of keeping the motorcycle's price competitive. Purposeful tall windshield, upside-down forks, rear monoshock, front and rear disc brakes with two-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS) and fully digital instrument panel are expected to be some of key features of the TVS Apache RTR 300. Additionally, Pirelli-made tyres could be standard.

The TVS Apache RTR 300 will be powered by the BMW G310R's 313 cc engine. The newly developed water-cooled single-cylinder engine puts out 34 hp (25 kW) at 9,500 rpm and 21 lb.-ft. (28 Nm) of torque at 7,500 rpm in the BMW offering. Paired to a 6-speed transmission, this motor allows the BMW G310R to be driven at speeds of up to 145 km/h.
