Tronx Motors has launched India’s first 'smart' crossover electric bike, the Tronx One. The company has launched the e-bike at an introductory price of INR 49,999.
The Tronx One is available in two colours - Magma Red and Pacific Blue. The company states that deliveries will start from 16 July for the first batch of buyers who have pre-booked the electric-bike. Earlier know as Volta Motors, Tronx Motors is a subsidiary of Smartphone maker Smartron. The e-bike gets a top-speed of 25 kph.
The Tronx One features multiple ride modes with three electric gears and a 6-speed Shimano Shifter, which extend and adjust the range and speed of the e-bike. A mid-step-through frame offers ease of use and comfort, while also being adaptable and ergonomic for the riders. The e-bike uses a premium rust-proof aero-grade alloy frame material, used in the construction of aircraft.
Speaking about the launch, Anoop Nishanth, Founder & CEO, Tronx Motors, said -
TRONX ONE is developed in India by a passionate team of designers and engineers, and we are very excited to launch it for Indian consumers. With unique features such as advanced detachable lithium battery technology powered by advanced Samsung cells which are designed to carry and charge, the product is an ideal companion for the consumer as it offers a powerful and fun riding experience powered by the tronXTM ecosystem. We are receiving a great initial response from the market and have already closed the first batch of pre-bookings. We aim to bring globally competing Design & Engineering with advanced and affordable technology to India in our upcoming products. Our next step is to ensure seamless shipping and delivery of the TRONX ONE to the consumers and our team is focused on that.
The Tronx One also features a smart display that is powered by tronXTM, which lets the user connect it with the ‘tbike app’ to set fitness goals and calculate the estimated range. Powering the e-bike is a 36V 13.6Ah 500W lightweight and detachable Lithium-ion battery along with a 250W rear hub motor that delivers power to the rear wheel. Tronx claims a riding range of 50 km per charge with continuous throttle mode, while the range is extendable to 70-85 km per charge on the electronic ‘Gear Assist mode.’
The Tronx One will initially be available across nine Indian cities - Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Goa, Chandigarh, Delhi-NCR, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Bangalore. The company has partnered with service partners in these cities, where consumers can test ride the e-bike based on appointment slots.
