Emflux Motors has taken the wraps off its latest performance electric sport bike, the Emflux One at the 2018 Auto Expo in Greater Noida. Here are the live images of the bike from the show.
Emflux plans to produce 199 units of the Emflux One for the Indian market and another 300 for the export. The standard version of the Emflux ONE costs INR 6 lakhs on road; and with the three performance upgrades (Ohlins suspension, forged alloy wheels and ultralight carbonfibre panels), the price will be INR 11 lakhs on road. Deliveries will commence in April, next year. They can develop the electric drivetrain including the battery, BMS, charger, motor controller and the motor for 2 as well as 4 wheelers. Emflux will generate revenue by selling premium performance bikes; and also by licensing their technology to OEM companies as well as developing customized solutions for others.
Coming back to the motorcycle, the trellis frame houses the biggest and the heaviest component- the 9.7 kWh battery pack. They have designed the frame to be light and rigid enough for optimum dynamics. The liquid cooled modular lithium ion battery pack comes with integrated high-power Samsung cells. The battery charges using an Emflux Warp Charger. It charges up to 80% in 36 minutes using the Warp Charger. It takes three hours from regular 15A wall charger. The battery pack has an IP 67 rating for water and dust resistance. The city range stands at 200 km, and on the highway, it can go up to 150 km, at 80 kmph speed.
The battery powers the Emflux three-phase AC induction motor with liquid cooling. It generates 60 kW of peak power (Limited to 53 kW (71hp) from the controller); and 84 Nm (Limited to 75Nm from the controller). The motor pairs with a direct drive transmission, and transfers the power to the wheel using a chain drive. 0-100 kmph comes in at a blistering 3.0 seconds, and the top speed is at 200 kmph.
The bike also features a 6.8 inch touchscreen smart display with GPS navigation, Bluetooth, WiFi, 4G System Software - Emflux Learning OS V1.0. It will receive over-the-air updates to add new features and improve existing functionality as well. Dual channel ABS is standard. Standard suspension is a 43 mm upside down unit and a rear gas monoshock. The high-spec version gets adjustable Ohlins front USD and rear monoshock units.
