Tata's Maruti Swift rival to go on sale by end of this year.
The Tata Bolt hatchback was spotted on test in South India recently by a member of The Automotive India forum. Seen here is a Bolt with an orange dashboard which also matches the body color of the car.
Unveiled prior to the Auto Expo this year, the Bolt is the second 'new' product from Tata Motors that would go on sale this year. It is based on the Vista, but sees a complete redesign, and comes with an updated mechanical carriage.
Powering the Bolt will be Tata's new 1.2-liter turbocharged Revotron engine which makes 85 PS (83.8 bhp) and 140 Nm of torque. The diesel variant, which uses Fiat's 1.3-liter Multijet engine, makes 75 PS (73.94 bhp) and 190 Nm of torque. Both engines come paired to 5-speed manual transmissions, though an AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) box could be introduced in the future.
