Tata's second new product for this year awaits a launch.
Indian Autos Blog reader, Mr. Sanjeev, spotted the upcoming Tata Bolt on test near Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Seen in one of these images are the LED taillights of the hatchback, which adds visual flair and better distinguishes the Bolt from the Vista on which it is based.
Powering the B-segment hatchback will be Tata's new 1.2-liter turbocharged Revotron petrol engine which produces 85 PS (83.8 bhp) and 140 Nm of torque. The diesel variant will use the 1.3-liter Fiat Multijet engine churning out 75 PS (73.94 bhp) and 190 Nm of torque.
Tata announced at the time of the Bolt's showcase that the car will be sold with 5-speed manual transmissions only. However, the company can offer an automated manual transmission (AMT) given this technology is readily available on the Zest, if enough supply is secured.
