P.T Suzuki Indomobil Motor, the Indonesian subsidiary of Suzuki, launched the special edition Suzuki Karimun Wagon R (known as the Maruti Wagon R in India) Dilago edition at 105.7 million Indonesian rupiah (INR 5.28 lakh). The special edition gets a handful of exterior accessories starting with a full body kit with side skirts and bumper spoilers.
At the front, the upper and lower grille now come in chrome for a more premium look. Chrome door handles, side body moulding and 14-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels on 175/65 tires are the highlights seen on the side profile of the hatchback. Other features include foglights, rear spoiler, an alarm system, parking sensors and muffler extension.
The Wagon R in Indonesia is powered by the same three-cylinder 1.0-liter K-Series engine which produces 68 PS and 90 Nm of torque, matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox. In fact, the car sold in Indonesia is identical to the Indian model in terms of looks and powertrain. The Wagon R, thanks to its fuel efficiency of 20 km/l+, is classified as a LCGC (Low Cost Green Car) in Indonesia, which gives it tax benefits.
Suzuki makes the Wagon R at its facility in Tambun, Indonesia, for domestic and export demand. The factory commenced exports of the Wagon R to Pakistan today, and would initially export 1,2000 units/month and later 1,500 units/month.
