Second crossover in Suzuki Australia's product range.
Suzuki Australia has confirmed that the new Ignis crossover will launch for sale down under in Q1 2017. It will be Suzuki's second crossover in their revamped product lineup.
Suzuki is yet to release technical specs of the Australia-spec Suzuki Ignis, but CarAdvice is speculating that it could offer a 1.2L K12C engine paired with the SHVS mild hybrid system or a 1.0L Boosterjet three cylinder engine. Transmission options could include a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT, while an ALLGRIP AWD system may be exclusive to the range-topping model.
Features one can expect from the Australia-spec Suzuki Ignis include LED headlamps, touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, sliding rear seat, and a choice of dual tone exterior colors. As for safety equipment, the Ignis will feature airbags and ABS as standard, but it's unclear if it will source ESP, Dual Camera Brake Support (DCBS), lane departure warning, and weaving alert from the Euro-spec model.

The new Ignis measures 3,700 mm long, 1,660 mm in wide, 1,595 mm in height, has a 2,435 mm long wheelbase and a ground clearance of 180 mm. Top-end variants will ride on black-painted 15-inch alloy rims similar to the set seen in the spyshot.
Currently the Suzuki Ignis is sold only in Japan. The second market to receive it will be India, this festival season.
