Gets a new diamond frame, longer wheelbase.
Suzuki Motorcycle India has unveiled the new Suzuki Hayate EP at the Auto Expo 2016 today. It will serve as a higher variant of the currently selling Hayate. Pricing will be announced in the coming weeks and customer deliveries will begin from this financial year.
The new commuter gets a revised diamond frame, longer wheelbase, longer seat, 5-step adjustable rear shock absorbers, tubeless tyres and a maintenance-free battery. It is available in three body colours – Pearl Mira Red, Metallic Oort Grey and Glass Sparkle Black.
The motorcycle is equipped with the Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) technology which makes use of the Suzuki Super Sleek Piston, low friction cylinder & piston rings and high-ignition spark plug for reduced friction, enhanced combustion, higher compression ratio, and weight reduction.
The EP version is powered by the same engine sourced from the standard Suzuki Hayate, but tuned for higher power and torque output. The 112.8 cc single-cylinder air-cooled SOHC engine on the Hayate EP produces 8.9 PS at 7,500 rpm and 9.3 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The company states that the Hayate EP will return a higher mileage despite offering the same pick-up that the existing Hayate delivers.
