What is believed to be the final technical specifications of the Suzuki Gixxer has been reported by several auto websites since last evening. The motorcycle made its first appearance along with the Let's scooter prior to the Auto Expo this year and the bookings are already open.
Suzuki had announced that the naked motorcycle, which will be positioned above the Suzuki GS150R, is powered by a 154.9 cc SOHC air-cooled engine that breathes via a carburetor and comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The power and torque figures, that haven't been officially disclosed, stand at 14.1 PS (13.9 bhp) and 14 Nm respectively, according to these reports.
Also reported are the bike's dimensions. The Gixxer measures 2,050 mm in length, 785 mm in width, 1,030 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 1,330 mm. The Gixxer will be available in five colour options - Metallic Oort Grey, Candy Antares Red, Glass Sparkle Black, Metallic Triton Blue and Pearl Mirage White, the reports add.
The motorcycle is suspended by inverted telescopic forks upfront and monoshock at the rear. The front wheel gets braking power from a disc while the rear uses a drum. The bike comes shod with tyres of size 100/80-17 at the front and 140/60R-17 at the rear.
The engine is benefited by the Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) technology which employs various fuel saving measures.
