Suzuki Baleno coming in H1 2016, Suzuki Ignis the same year - Italy

Baleno will reportedly be exported from India.

Massimo Nalli, General Manager of Suzuki Auto Italy, has confirmed in an interview that the Suzuki Baleno will be introduced in Italy early next year. Mr. Nalli confirmed that the iM-4, what is now known as the Suzuki Ignis, will launch next year as well.

For European markets, the Baleno will be offered with the Boosterjet engine.

While an announcement has not been made, reports state that Maruti will produce and export the Baleno in left- and right-hand drive configurations for the European and UK market. Production of the Baleno has already started in India, where a launch is expected to take place on October 26.

For the European and UK market, the Baleno will be offered with Suzuki's all-new three-cylinder 1.0-liter Boosterjet turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.2-liter DualJet petrol engine with the SHVS micro-hybrid technology. The Boosterjet engine will develop 110 hp and 170 Nm of torque.

The Ignis will have its premiere at the Tokyo Motor Show this month.

The Ignis on the other hand is announced to have its world premiere at the Tokyo Motor Show this month. Billed as Suzuki's compact crossover, the Ignis is reported to measure 3,700 mm in length, 1,660 mm in width, 1,595 mm in height while offering "plenty" of ground clearance.

The Ignis is also expected with the same engines as the Baleno, though Suzuki have not confirmed a production base for the vehicle.
