The Chinese media report that the Suzuki Alivio (Maruti Ciaz) will go on sale in China next month. Specifically, the reports state the the car will be shown, and the pricing will be revealed, at the Chengdu Motor Show which starts on the 29th of August.
Though Suzuki showcased a pre-production Alivio at the Beijing Motor Show this April, the interior of the car was not revealed then. For the Chinese market, the car will be powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder 16-valve petrol engine coupled with a newly-developed 6-speed automatic transmission.
In India, Maruti is expected to launch the Ciaz in the festive season months of August or September. The sedan will get the Ertiga's 1.4-liter K-Series petrol engine and the Fiat-sourced 1.3-liter diesel motor. The petrol Ciaz would also receive a CVT gearbox in addition to the default 5-speed manual.
Top-end variants are expected to be equipped with projector headlights, 16-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, engine starter button, multifunction steering wheel, automatic AC, rear AC vents, ABS, EBD and dual airbags.
