The Guangzhou Auto Show is set to commence on Friday and the Springo EV has already arrived at the venue to be ready for its public debut.
The GM-SAIC Springo EV is nothing but the Chevy Sail U-VA with an electric driveline. The car was showcased in the form of a concept at the 2010 Guangzhou Auto Show bearing a ‘S’ logo leading to thoughts that there could be a sub brand from GM-SAIC specifically for electric cars.
We have already brought you the spyshots and official images of the electric car and now the interior images are out on the internet.
The dashboard retains the same layout and design as the Sail U-VA but it has white panels on the center console and the steering boss. The seat fabric complements the dashboard and is finished in a black and white dual tone theme.
The EV features digital instrument display instead of the Sail's conventional unit to inform the driver about the battery status and other vital information required while driving an EV.
The tastefully designed automatic gear knob looks futuristic and carries the white treatment. It easily stands out from rest of the cabin elements.
The underbody of the car has a pronounced trough which houses the 22 KWh battery. The battery pack has a range of 150 km and supplies energy to the 85 KW motor which can propel the EV to a top speed of 130 km.
