The teaser video shows two Royal Enfield Himalayan bikes traversing through mountain roads. The two bikes appear to be kitted out with panniers on both sides. The new colour scheme looks like snow camouflage, and is apt for an adventure tourer like the Himalayan. The new colour variant is reportedly called ‘Sleet’. Including the Sleet, the total colour choices stand at three. The fuel tank, front and rear fender get the new camo colour. The powertrain, suspension, and the rims are all black. The camouflage colour variant was spotted recently. The mechanical underpinnings are likely to remain the same as the existing Himalayan.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan draws power from a single cylinder 411 cc SOHC mill. With fuel injection, the engine generates 24.5 bhp of power at 6,500 rpm, and 32 Nm of torque at 4,250 rpm. A 5-speed transmission does duty in the motorcycle. The engine nestles inside a half-duplex split cradle frame. For suspension, the motorcycle employs 41 mm telescopic front fork, and a rear monoshock with linkage. A 300 mm front and a 240 mm rear disc handle the braking responsibility.

Snow and Granite are the two colour variants available currently.

Apart from the new colour variant of the Himalayan, Royal Enfield is also working on introducing a more sportier and trendier variant of the Thunderbird, called the Thunderbird 350X and the Thunderbird 500X. Royal Enfield will launch the bikes this month. The company recently discontinued the Continental GT from the Indian market, and will be introducing a bigger variant, the Continental GT 650 in the summer.
