The Rover gloves are priced at INR 1,200, while the Rambler and Battle variants are available at INR 1,500.
The riding jacket is available in a single variant – Streetwind – in two colour options – Black & Olive. The t-shirt range currently comprises a single option – Polo Essential Black. We expect to see a longer list in the future. All the products are available with a free next day delivery option.
Royal Enfield has also announced an “End of Season Sale” on its website under which it is offering a wider range of riding gear and merchandise at heavy discounts. The 17-page catalogue available at discount includes messenger bags, cargo pants, shirts, jeans, belts, etc.
Regular readers would know that Classic Legends have also announced accessories and merchandise for Jawa motorcycles. Jawa bikes are a direct threat to Royal Enfield in the Indian market. In fact, since the launch of the Jawa Classic and the Jawa Forty-Two in November last year, Royal Enfield has reported negative year-on-year sales performance in our market.
The Chennai-based two-wheeler brand has reported negative sales for the eighth consecutive month in June 2019. Exports, on the other hand, have delivered promising numbers and Royal Enfield reported 72% year-on-year growth in international sales in the previous month.
The improved performance in the exports could be accredited to the launch of the Royal Enfield 650 Twins in the international markets. The 650 Twins are currently available in New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, USA and the UK. The exports are likely to increase once the company’s first overseas plant commences operations in Thailand.
