Available in four variants.
Associated Motorways Private Limited (AMW), the authorized distributor of Renault in Sri Lanka, has launched the Renault Kwid and the Renault Duster facelift in the market. The first lot of cars will be shipped to Sri Lanka from the Renault Nissan alliance plant in Chennai in mid-June.
Initially, AWM will retail cars out of its facility in Gangarama in Colombo. In 2017, Renault will have five outlets and five after-sales outlets in Sri Lanka, Mr. Sumit Sawhney, Country CEO and Managing Director, Renault India said.
For the Sri Lankan market, the Renault Kwid is available in four variants - Std, RxE, RxL, RxT. The RxT is available with an optional driver-airbag too. The touchscreen Media NAV entertainment-cum-navigation system is also offered on this variant.
There are no changes to the technical specifications of the Kwid sold in Sri Lanka. It continues to be powered by the three-cylinder 0.8-liter petrol engine capable of 54 PS at 5,678 rpm and 72 Nm of torque at 4,386 rpm, paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Meanwhile, in the Indian market, Renault is gearing up to launch new variants on the Kwid. A more powerful 1.0-liter variant and a Renault Kwid AMT are planned for a launch before the festive season period.
