Reported to get dual airbags and ABS as standard.
Ahead of the launch of the Renault Duster facelift on Feb 4, Renault India has also confirmed that "variants" of the Renault Kwid will be unveiled on February 3 at the Auto Expo 2016. The unverified variants are the Renault Kwid 1.0L and Renault Kwid AMT (Renault Kwid Automatic).
Both models will be sold alongside the current 0.8L Renault Kwid, positioned above it. The Kwid 1L and Kwid AMT will rival the Maruti Alto K10 and Maruti Alto K10 AMT respectively. A report stated that the Kwid 1L will be equipped with ABS and dual front airbags as well. Presently, the only safety option is a driver airbag in the top-end variant of the Kwid.
Technical details on the 1.0L engine are unavailable at this moment. It is said to be an “evolution” of the Kwid’s 800cc three-cylinder engine to sate prospective customers who would like more power from the A Segment car which has crossed 85,000 bookings.
