Prices bumped by INR 11,000.
In an interview with Economic Times, Colin Macdonald, managing director at the Renault Nissan Alliance, states that the bookings for the Renault Kwid has crossed 85,000 units, since its launch in late September 2015.
Currently, there is an 8 month waiting period for Renault's highly anticipated hatchback, despite the production increase. The base model, with its price of INR 2,56,968, is bumped to INR 2,59,968 (ex-showroom).
The Kwid is based on the CMF-A platform and measures 3,679 mm in length, 1,579 mm in width, 1,478 mm in height and 2,422 mm in wheelbase. It has a ground clearance of 180 mm and a fuel tank capacity of 28 liters.

Renault will further widen the Kwid's outreach by offering a more-powerful 1.0L variant, reportedly, which will have a 5-speed AMT option, ABS and dual airbags. It is expected to break cover at the Auto Expo 2016 in February. The Kwid will also make its Brazilian premiere this year, while exports to Zambia from India are also underway.
