Will be based on the Nissan X-Trail's CMF platform.
Along with the Renault Kadjar and Captur, Renault will add a 7-seater crossover to the mix, which is currently undergoing prototype testing. It will serve as the replacement of the Renault Koleos, and is expected to break cover at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March.
French publication, L'Automobile, has worked on a render of the next gen Renault Koleos (name unconfirmed), based on spyshots of the test mule. It features the company’s latest design philosophy that influences the new Renault Espace, Renault Talisman and the Renault Megane. The rear-end has a shark-fin antenna, roof-mounted spoiler, and Talisman-like C-Shaped LED taillamps.
Reports suggest that it measures 4.52 meters, which is slightly longer than the Kadjar's 4.45 m. It rides on the Nissan X-Trail's CMF platform, and could also share internals with its Japanese cousin. The French report suggests that the engine lineup could include the 1.6 TCe 150 hp and 200 hp petrol engines, 1.5 dCi 110hp, and a 1.6 dCi with 130 hp or 160 hp.
It's unclear if Renault India is considering a launch of the next generation Renault Koleos for the country. If it does get the green light, it will be the company's flagship product rivaling the ladder-frame SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour and soft-roaders like the Honda CR-V and Nissan X-Trail.
