Will be launched in India in October 2017, reportedly.
The Renault Kaptur that was introduced in Russia in March is apparently China-bound now. According to a recent report, the company has submitted a patent application for the Renault Kaptur in the name of 'Renault Captur' in the country.
The patent images that have surfaced online suggest that, like in Brazil, the Renault Kaptur will be called Renault 'Captur' in China. However, unlike in Brazil, the European Captur is also sold in China, and thus, the longer, more off-road capable version will probably get a suffix in its name to be differentiated.
The Renault Kaptur measures 4,333 mm in length, 1,813 mm (excluding door mirrors) in width and 1,613 in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,674 mm and a ground clearance of 204 mm. It offers 387 litres of luggage space, which can be increased to 1,200 litres by folding the rear seats.
The Dacia Duster‘s B0 platform-based crossover is offered with 1.6- and 2.0-litre petrol engines in Russia. The 1.6-litre four-cylinder unit produces 84 kW (112.60 hp/114 PS) at 5,500 rpm and 156 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm, while the 2.0-litre four-cylinder unit develops 105 kW (140.75 hp/143 PS) at 5,750 rpm and 195 Nm at 4,000 rpm. 6-speed manual transmission, a 4-speed automatic transmission and a continuously variable transmission, and front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are among the drivetrain options.
According to reports, the Renault Kaptur will be launched in India in Q4 2017.
