Renault India is offering heavy discounts on the Duster according to information published by Mr. Car. The website also claims that the Duster variant lineup would be trimmed to just three models once the Renault Captur (Renault Kaptur) is launched.
In an email sent out to the "Gang of Dusters" members, a community of Duster owners in India, Renault is willing to offer discounts of up to 2 lakhs on the ex-showroom price. The base 85 PS diesel variant is being offered with a discount of 1.6 lakhs while the top-end 110 PS AWD Adventure Edition sees it price shaved off by 2 lakhs. The email also lists exchange benefits of INR 10,000 along with a corporate bonus of INR 7,000 stretching the total benefits to INR 2.17 lakhs.
However, this is a stock clearing exercise, and the number of units available and colour options are limited. Only 34 units of the base 85 PS Duster diesel and 73 units of the 110 PS AWD Adventure Edition are up for sale. While the former is only available in white, the latter can be had in either white or silver.
The report adds that once the Captur is launched, the Duster lineup will shrink to just three diesel variants - 85 PS RxE, 85 PS RxZ and 110 PS RxZ AMT. Renault will introduce the Captur during the festive season and position it just above the Duster.
