Come with 15 hp and 10 Nm more than their regular versions.
Porsche India launched the performance variants of the Boxster roadster and the Cayman coupe yesterday priced at INR 1.129 crores and INR 1.1536 crores, ex-Showroom, Maharashtra, respectively. Both models premiered in April 2014 at the Beijing Auto Show.
Both Porsches are powered by a 3.4-liter flat-six boxer engine, just like their regular, lesser powerful versions. However, thanks to some tuning, the Boxster GTS makes 330 hp, and the Cayman GTS produces 340 hp, 15 hp more than the regular versions.
Correspondingly, torque has also increased by 10 Nm, with the convertible putting out 370 Nm, and the coupe delivering 380 Nm. Porsche is also offering its Sport Chrono package (an optional feature on the regular Cayman and Boxster) as standard on the GTS-spec cars.
When fitted with the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) gearbox, the Boxster GTS needs all of 4.4 seconds to hit 100 km/h, while the Cayman GTS takes 4.8 seconds. However, the Cayman GTS redeems itself in top-speed, as it can hit 285 km/h (with a manual transmission) whereas the Boxster GTS tops out at 281 km/h (manual transmission).
