All-new model with turbocharged engine presented in Thailand.
Peugeot is showcasing the Peugeot 408 e-THP at the Thai Motor Expo. Launched in Malaysia in June, the 408 e-THP is now featured on the company's Thai website and should be launched in a few months.
The Peugeot 408 e-THP measures 4,750 mm in length, 1,820 mm in width and 1,488 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,730 mm. Essentially a sedan version of the Peugeot 308, the new compact sedan packs the familiar 1.6-litre THP (Turbo High-Pressure) engine under the hood.
The Euro V-compliant turbocharged petrol engine churns out 165 hp at 6,000 rpm and 245 Nm of torque from 1,400 rpm, and sends drive via a 6-speed automatic transmission. With this configuration, the 408 e-THP can reach from 0-100 km/h in 8.2 seconds (approximately) and claim a (limited) top speed of 215 km/h. It has a fuel economy rating of 15.38 km/l and a CO2 emission rating of 156 g/km.
In Malaysia, the Peugeot 408 e-THP is available in six colours: Alpine White, Aluminium, Aster Grey, Premium Black, Lucifer Red and Bourrasque Blue. Full-LED headlamps, 17-inch lightweight alloy wheels, 9.7-inch HD multifunction touchscreen, dual-zone climate control system controlled via touchscreen and 6-speaker sound system with Arkamys sound staging are the highlights of the Peugeot 408 e-THP.
