This special edition gets more safety features as standard.
Peugeot has showcased the 408 Glory Edition at the 2015 Chengdu Motor Show. This car is the special edition of the new 408 which was launched in Chinese market in August last year. It is priced at Chinese Yuan 1,61,700 (INR 16,96,445).
The exterior is similar to the standard version but gets a host of safety features as standard. The 408 overall has a smooth and sophisticated appearance with the face getting LED headlamps and DRLs. The four-slat chrome grille takes up most of the face while the lower portion is dominated by the large radiator grille which is flanked on both sides by the small foglamps embellished with chrome elements. The rear continues with the same twin-edge taillamps and dual exhausts integrated in to the bumper.
The interiors of this special edition get a 9.7 inch touch-screen infotainment system, electric sunroof, leather multifunction steering wheel and cruise control. Safety features such as tire pressure monitoring system, ESP 9.0 electronic stability system, six airbags, electronic parking brake come as standard.
Powering the Glory Edition will be a three-cylinder 1.2-THP turbocharged direct injection engine that can churn out 136 bhp and peak twisting force of 230 Nm. The only transmission on offer is the 6-speed AT. The 408 comes equipped with an engine start-stop system that gives this mid-size sedan a claimed combined fuel efficiency of 19.23 kmpl.
