Launch expected early next year.
New spyshots of the upcoming Dongfeng MX6 SUV have emerged. The China-only vehicle is based on the previous generation Nissan X-Trail, which was replaced by the current model in early 2014.
Spotted by Auto Ifeng, the MX6 SUV is the same same shape as the X-Trail it's based on, but with a revised front-end. The front bumper and the radiator grille are the major changes, not to mention the new badging as well. At the rear, it has an almost identical design except the bumper-mounted reflectors.
On the mechanical front, the vehicle is expected to be powered by a 2-litre petrol engine making 144 hp of power and 198 Nm of torque, mated to either an automatic CVT gearbox or a 6-speed manual unit.
A report says the SUV will be manufactured by Zhengzhou-Nissan, a JV which makes small commercial vehicles. The current X-Trail is manufactured under a JV between Nissan and Dongfeng, and as the new model was launched, the previous one was available for licensing. Hence the X-Trail based MX6 came into being.

The vehicle is expected to be priced around 150,000 Yuan (INR 15.08 lakhs) and will go on sale early next year.
