The 2015 Nissan X-Trail is on display at the Thailand International Motor Expo 2014. The new 7-seater SUV, since last week, is on sale in the country with its price ranging from 1,172,000 baht to 1,551,000 baht (around INR 21.55 lakhs to INR 29.40 lakhs).
The SUV is nothing like its boxy predecessor and adopts the brand's latest 'V-Motion' design language. The interior too has been comprehensively revamped to feel premium and spacious.
In the Thai market, the new Nissan X-Trail is offered with a pair of petrol engines. The entry level 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol motor is capable of 144 PS (142 bhp) at 6,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. The range-topping 2.5-litre four-cylinder unit puts out 171 PS (168.6 bhp) at 6,000 rpm and 233 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.
Both engines come mated to a 7-step X-Tronic CVT gearbox with manual mode. The smaller engine option is available in both 2WD and 4WD configurations, while the bigger motor comes standard with 4WD.
Equipment wise, standard features include electrically adjustable seats, Active Engine Brake, Active Traction Control and Active Ride Control. The top-end model offers LED projector and DRL, cruise control, Around View Monitor, dual-zone climate control system, 7-inch Nissan Connect infotainment system, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, 4 airbags and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Nissan India is studying the market for several opportunities and the new X-Trail is one of the contenders.
