The traditional annual Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah saw a slew of Jeep Wrangler concepts that showcased the after market equipment from Mopar.

The outrageous concepts may not meet the production line but they hint at the next generation Jeep Wrangler. For example, the Jeep Wrangler Stitch which is lighter than the standard Wrangler by 500 kg portrays the weight saving techniques that could be used in the successor.
Jeep products take a toll on the Chrysler group's CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) rating and hence it is imperative to improve the fuel economy. And what better way to do that other than reducing the weight?
Jeep's vehicle line director Mr. Ray Durham says that the next gen Wrangler could have an aluminium chassis with hydroformed steel sections wherever necessary. He added that Chrysler engineers are working on every single component to figure out a way to reduce the weight.

And the next generation Jeep Wrangler would be more aerodynamic. The Wrangler Slim concept with its faired front bumper could serve as a starting point. In addition, better rear seats in four door models are also on the cards.
The Fiat Group has already announced that the Jeep Wrangler and the Grand Cherokee are to be launched in India by end of this year. That gives us a strong reason to keep a close tab on the development of the next generation Jeep Wrangler.
