Questions were raised on the LPG variant during the launch of the next gen WagonR model last year. Maruti Suzuki replied it was making the petrol fuel variant, holding the larger market share, available first before moving to other variants.
Another interesting remark made by a Maruti official was the rear seat on the new model was designed to offer additional comfort for the rear passengers. Comfort was given priority over boot volume and a compact system had to be designed to fit in the new car.
Maruti Suzuki reintroduced the last gen WagonR with the dual fuel option, but its services will not be needed anymore. The LPG variant of the new WagonR has been talked about in depth on the microsite. The LPG system has been certified by ARAI. A display on the dashboard informing the driver of system faults is useful. It automatically shuts down if there is any.
Furthermore, the LPG systems has an independent ECU and the mileage figure stands at a class-leading 14.4 kpl (in LPG Mode) and 18.7kpl (in petrol model).
We're in the process of finding out if dealers have received vehicles.
