Bookings are underway for the second generation 1L engined hatch.
Maruti-Suzuki have started teasing the new Maruti Alto K10 on a microsite. The small car launches on November 3, although bookings started last week.
As reported, the new K10 will come with the same engine. The 1.0-liter three-cylinder K-Series unit produces 68 PS (67.04 bhp) and 90 Nm of torque. Five variants of the K10 will get a 5-speed manual transmission, while a single VXi trim will be offered with a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT).
The new K10's fuel efficiency, as per ARAI tests, stands at 24.07 km/l for the petrol and 32.26 km/kg for the CNG variant. The petrol sees an improvement from the earlier model's 20.92 km/l, while a CNG powertrain is a first for the K10.
Also a first are driver airbag and a 2-DIN music system with integrated USB and AUX-in ports that has Radio, CD and MP3 functions. Other features that will be seen on the top-end variant includes power steering, front power windows, foglights and internally adjustable wing mirrors.

When launched, the new K10 will be the most affordable automatic car in the country. However, this title could be a short lived as Tata Motors is planning an AMT-equipped Nano.
